After years of thinking I want to write a book, and agonizing about a topic for 2 years, finally in December 2011 I knew what I wanted to write about!

I had been battling all my life to take care of me, and my own needs. In fact, I always thought that "needs" were for weak, awfully clingy and needy people and I did not acknowledge any of mine. I think I learnt early in life to ignore my needs - it was so much easier than having them crushed, laughed at or ridiculed.

My parents were such good people. Caring, loving, nurturing. And yet, they didn't teach me how to do those things for myself. I did not learn that it's okay (essential, in fact) to take care of me, too. I learnt that it's selfish to look after myself, that I should think of others first and give them what THEY need.

This led to self-neglect, always putting others first, and myself last in my own queue. I didn't look forward to my days, and sometimes were so exhausted and overwhelmed with everything on my to-do list - I didn't have any joy in my days.

Finally, when I thought of this journey and how I'd been able to change a few things with EFT and very kind people I learnt from, I KNEW I could write about this topic.

It took 18 months of writing, learning, researching for this book to see the light of day. Some say it's fast for a book to be born. I loved the journey, the growth I experienced, the skills I learnt and the people I got to know.

So on 8 May 2013, my book was launched in Cape Town. It was one of the best days in my whole entire life of 46 years (the book launch was 5 days after my birthday).

I'm happy, delighted, proud and really humble and grateful too, for all the help, advice, support and patience of all the important people in my life - who made this journey possible for me.

I'd love to share a few pics of this wonderful evening.
